General & Family Dentistry

Every patient should see a dentist at least twice a year for routine cleanings and checkups. We're all susceptible to conditions like tooth decay, gum disease, and more. Regular checkups will help us identify problems early, so we can treat them before they can have a serious impact on your oral health. Our general and preventive services include:

Dental Cleanings

Even the most thorough at-home brushing and flossing may not remove all the plaque and food from teeth. In fact, there are grooves in teeth that are so small that a single toothbrush bristle can’t access them. Professional cleanings are necessary to remove plaque from these parts of the tooth. Additionally, plaque hardens into tartar within 12 hours. Tartar, or calculus, can’t be removed at home. You’ll need a professional to remove this hardened plaque. During your twice a year dental cleaning, we’ll help you make the most of your daily hygiene routine.

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal (gum) disease affects millions of adults in the US, and without proper treatment, it can be detrimental to oral health. Advanced gum disease, periodontitis, is the leading cause of tooth loss among patients over the age of 35. Our team works hard to help patients prevent gum disease, but when this oral health condition can’t be avoided, our team offers personalized periodontal therapy plans to renew oral health and function.

Dental Sealants

For young patients who are still learning to care for their smiles and adults who are prone to tooth decay, dental sealants offer a preventive dentistry option to protect teeth from potential damage. Sealants are thin coats of protective material that place a barrier between teeth and decay-causing bacteria and plaque buildup, reducing risk for decay.

Sleep Apnea Therapy

If you experience chronic snoring, daytime exhaustion, or frequent nighttime waking, you may be suffering from sleep apnea. While you may not think of it immediately, a dentist may actually offer the ideal treatment for patients suffering from this sleep disorder. We offer custom crafted oral appliances to keep the airway clear through the night, allowing patients to sleep soundly and breathe deeply.

Oral Cancer Screenings

Oral cancer claims one life every hour in the US, and of those patients diagnosed each year. Only 50% live five years beyond their diagnosis. To reduce the number of annual deaths associated with oral cancer, our team provides screenings during every six month dental exam.

Nightguards & Mouthguards

Whether you’re suffering from teeth grinding and clenching (bruxism) or TMJ dysfunction, a custom crafted mouthguard can protect your smile from damage and hold your jaw in the proper position to avoid straining the jaw joints.

Emergency Dentistry

Whenever patients need us, we’re here to help. That includes offering same day emergency dentistry services. Call our team right away if you’re in need of urgent dental care. We will do our best to see you right away, or a member of our team will walk you through first aid and pain management until you reach our office.

Cosmetic Dentistry

A beautiful smile can enhance your confidence and change the way others perceive you. We're not all born with a naturally dazzling smile, though. During a cosmetic dentistry consultation visit at our Fort Worth office, Dr. Givan will talk to you about your goals and guide you to the solution that's most right for you. We offer two very popular cosmetic services:

Porcelain Veneers

To completely transform your smile in just two short treatment appointments, porcelain veneers are the best option. We can custom craft your veneers to correct any number of smile flaws, including chips, cracks, stains, and gaps in teeth.

At-Home Teeth Whitening

If a brighter smile is on your wish list, we can offer predictable results up to ten shades brighter using our personalized, professional at-home teeth whitening options. Our custom teeth whitening kits are safe, comfortable, and effective, giving patients a brilliant white smile in just about two weeks of short, daily applications.

Restorative Dentistry Services

Eventually, we all need a little restorative help, whether because of a cavity, gum disease, a neuromuscular issue, or even an injury. Regardless of the cause, when you need restorative care, turn to Dr. Givan. Our Fort Worth office offers comprehensive care through a wide range of services that include:

Tooth-Colored Fillings

To repair minor tooth decay and damage, tooth-colored fillings allow our team to replace damaged dental structures and restore the full appearance and function of your smile. Completed in just one visit, these conservative dentistry treatments are an effective restoration option to recreate lost dental structure and leave patients with flawless smiles.

Dental Crowns & Bridges

For more advanced restoration, a dental crown may be necessary. Dental crowns fit over the top of damaged teeth to protect remaining tooth structure and restore the full form and function of the smile. When patients have lost one or a few consecutive teeth, dental crowns can be attached to surrounding healthy dental structure to support one or more replacement teeth.

Root Canals

When tooth decay or damage reaches the inner most layers of teeth called pulp, a root canal may be necessary. Root canal procedures are used to remove damaged pulp and nerve tissue and preserve a damaged or decayed tooth that may otherwise need to be extracted.

Dental Implants

Replacing one or more missing teeth used to mean only restoring the parts of the tooth visible when you smile. Dental implants make it possible for us to replace an entire tooth from the roots up more closely recreating the natural structures of missing teeth for long-lasting, flawless results.

Dr. Givan will determine your exact needs during a consultation appointment before recommending a specific treatment plan. If you have any questions about what he recommends, don't hesitate to ask. We want all of our patients to know what they can expect from their restorative dentistry procedures.
